Herbert Gr\u00f6nemeyer’s extraordinary album Mensch <\/em>left a lasting impression on German music history as one of the most successful German-language albums of all time and is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, a limited Blu-ray edition of the sold-out 2020 studio and home cinema edition will be released on August 26, 2022, presented in an anniversary slipcase. Like its predecessor, this edition, which will be available until the end of 2022, includes stereo, surround, and Dolby Atmos audio formats, as well as a recording of the Mensch live<\/em> concert at the Arena AufSchalke in 2003 in Full HD and Dolby Atmos. <\/p>\n

The Blu-ray in this edition is identical to the previous Blu-ray release and also includes<\/strong> stereo, surround, and Dolby Atmos audio tracks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mensch was first released in 2002 and, with 3.1 million copies sold, is not only Gr\u00f6nemeyer’s most successful album, but also the best-selling album in Germany to date.<\/p>\n

Mensch <\/em>was recorded at Mayfair Studios in London, Gr\u00f6nemeyer’s home at the time. Together with his long-time producer Alex Silva, he ensured the best possible recording quality. As a result, Mensch was released in 2002 in high-resolution sound quality on SACD with a 5.1 mix, which was used as the basis for the Dolby Atmos mastering of the album. The Pure Audio Blu-ray format allows these audio formats to be played back without any problems using a standard Blu-ray player or a compatible game console with a Blu-ray drive. <\/p>\n

The Blu-ray also includes a recording of the two-day concert from 2003 at the Arena AufSchalke during his tour \u201cAlles Gute von gestern bis Mensch\u201d (All the best from yesterday to today).<\/p>\n

Gr\u00f6nemeyer’s classics such as \u201cBochum,\u201d \u201cM\u00e4nner,\u201d \u201cFlugzeuge im Bauch,\u201d and \u2018Mensch\u2019 can be heard and end in a brilliant \u201cCurrywurst.\u201d A concert recording was made in front of more than 65,000 spectators, marked by great emotion, even if the recording technology at the time did not yet allow for the image sharpness of today’s video productions. The concert recording is also available in stereo, 5.1 surround sound, and in a Dolby Atmos version based on it. <\/p>\n

The studio album and live concert are available remastered on this Blu-ray Disc.<\/p>\n
